The Uranus
To Myrrhage!

The characters hear of a strange, new world about 1000 miles from here. They call it Myrrhage and they say it’s abundant with resources. The characters decide to travel to this new place and take the next ship out of town. They’re met by a stout dwarf who looks like he’s been through a lot but still smiles through missing teeth. He introduces himself as Daled and asks for a 30 gp fare.

The players pay, negotiate and perform other shenanigans, then finally board the ship named The Uranus (meaning “sky” or “heaven” in Ancient Greek mythology). They’re rushed below deck as the Captain and deckhands get to work setting the ship to sail. A few hours later, one of the deckhands throws them a surprise below deck. Three Giant Crabs are thrown at them.

Daled says you work for your fare. I hope you like crab stew!

They’re immediately put to work to kill their own dinner. They finally defeat the crabs, after almost setting the ship on fire, and Slog cooks them up with one missing. Vavira and Ana have secretly stolen one of them.

On the ship, there’s not much to do for the next 10 days of travel. Dova decides to join the ship’s fight club which is what the sailors do for fun. Set resorts to praying in his room, Ana reading in hers, and Vavira practices her archery skills.

Only hours from Umbertide port in Myrrhage, they hear a commotion above deck. They rush up to see Daled, Slog and the Captain in heated combat against pirates. They rush to their aid and have no trouble defeating and scaring the pirates off. Daled gives them a reward for their help in saving his and the crew’s lives.

Taverns and Wilderness
Rothilion's Contract

After the trouble on the ship, they eventually make it to Umbertide in one piece. They go to The Lazy Ferret, a tavern that Daled’s wife works at. They have a few drinks, some food, and chat amongst themselves. Suddenly a half-elven, well-dressed man enters and asks for aid with a task to rid the Crystal Caverns of a goblin problem so that his business may mine it for its ores.

The characters decide to partake this task and are met with resistance by a band of thugs also relaxing at the tavern. There is one human, one goliath, and one half-orc. They try to solve the problem diplomatically and find that they’re only digging an early grave. The situation starts to escalate as Set tries to use magic and the half orc’s temper starts to get the better of her.

Dova almost cuts through the orc’s chest as she leaves the tavern clutching her chest. Vavira’s shots go awry as Ana continues to try to reason with the thugs. The human sees his ally almost cut down in one blow and leaves, while Set uses magic on the goliath to make him leave. Patrons at the tavern are a bit shocked as they watch this interesting, almost comical, display. It all happened so quickly and no one was harmed except for the half-orc. The characters sign the contract with Rothilion after the fiasco and immediately make their way to the Crystal Caverns in the middle of the night.

The follow the river to the caverns for a few hours when they suddenly feel like they’re being followed. Vavira notices two wolves in the thicket and decides to give them morsels of food from the giant crab they killed. She uses ‘Speak with Animals’ to get information from them and scout out their path. They tell her that something dangerous is up ahead.

The players try to find a way around the obstacle when Set gets webbed to the ground and a giant spider comes out of the dark. Vavira, with her ‘Speak with Animals’ spell running out, is able to discern that the spider wants to feed them to her babies.

They are able to take out the giant spider and her two babies, but Ana collapses due to poison. Set uses his knowledge of medicine and herbs to stabilize Ana and heal some of her health back. They then continue on their way to the Crystal Caverns.

Goblins!

After finding the entrance to the cave, the party took a long rest while Dova stood guard and watched as the goblins patrolled the entrance. They moved in during the night, taking out the goblins swiftly. The first two caverns had only six goblin patrollers with not much to their names.

The last cavern, however, was occupied by three hobgoblins that were much larger in size and smarter. As Dova was the first one in, he took on one of the hobgoblin bodyguards, just barely taking any wounds. Ana moved in next, trying to take on the archer and the leader. As Set and Vavira finally entered the battle, what looked to be the leader of the hobgoblins triggered a trap that closed them all into this section of the cave.

The odds were starting to look against their favour, even after taking down the bodyguards, when the leader almost knocks Ana unconscious with one blow. Dova moves in to protect her and the leader leaves him clinging to life with two strong blows. Set is able to provide Ana with a potion and he then tries to take on the leader in melee combat. Vavira finally deals the finishing blow, shooting an arrow into the skull of hobgoblin who almost took down their party.

Trapped inside the cave and running out of oxygen quickly, the party notices two pressure plates meant to reverse the trap. They were able to use the three dead hobgoblin bodies and Dova as weights on the pressure plates to undo the trap. Taking their loot and relieved to be alive, they start to exit the cave.

Upon returning to the next cavern, they’re met with a large brown bear who’s found his way in. They immediately start panicking when the bear suddenly morphs into a small, half-elven female with auburn hair.

Wait, I’ve only come as a scout for Rothilion. My name is Nueleth, and I see you’ve done your job.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
